The Little Mommy

Okay, so I must be doing something right.  Alissa has been a “mother” all week to her baby.  She mimics everything I do with Ashley (and things I’ve done and still do with Alissa).  She gives her baby a bottle.  Her baby goes for rides in the swing.  Yesterday I found the baby in the exersaucer, and two days ago she had the baby in the high chair, where it was eating Cheerios. Alissa even tried to put one of Ashley’s diapers on the baby.

Alissa’s favorite thing to do, though, is put the baby down for a nap.  She bundles her up in Ashley’s sleep sack, reads her a story, sings her a song, and then puts her in bed.  And Alissa pays attention even to the slightest details: she turns on the fan, just like we do when Alissa sleeps.  And turns on the closet light.  And then she gives her baby a kiss, turns out the lamp, and shuts the door.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  Feels like it.
