New Facebook app helps you save 10% for shopping

Facebook has a cool new app called Endorse.  Basically, you can earn 10% back on products and services you buy regularly, including name brand groceries, apparel, baby stuff, and more.  You can also get 10% back from restaurants (McD’s and Subway are on there), pharmacies (like Walgreens) and retailers (including Wal-Mart and Target)

Here’s how it works:

1.  First, sign up with Endorse.  (Click here.)  You will have to allow Facebook to pull your information.  The program only works on the Facebook platform.

2.  You have to “endorse” products before you buy them, or else your purchase isn’t valid.  To do this, you can do one of two things:

  • Go to products and choose individual products, -OR-
  • Go to friends and see what your FB friends have already endorsed.  Then you can just follow that friend’s products.  (If you are friends with me on FB, I’ve already endorsed a bunch of products.  Just find me in friends and follow the products I’ve already endorsed.  This should save you some time.)

3.  Endorse will send you postage-free envelopes.  Simply drop your original receipts in the envelope and mail it back.  You’ll earn 10% back on all the items or places you’ve endorsed.

If you endorse a product, and then five friends follow your endorsement of that product and also buy it, you’ll get your purchase for free.

I’ve just started using it, and I have to say, I’m impressed by the number of retailers and brand-name products they’ve got listed.  If you want to learn more about it, go to Endorse and click on “How It Works” or FAQs on the bottom of the page.

Keep in mind – the 10% you earn back is in addition to coupon savings or cash-back programs through your credit card.
